the romantidote

Putting the art in cathartic. The bastard love-child of Bon Iver, Byron and, bizarrely, the Bee Gees,
The Romantidote is the musical alter ego of Berlin-based Scottish singer-songwriter Calum Bolland. Blending melancholic indie folk, theatrical storytelling and a healthy dose of self-deprecation.

ABOUT

The Romantidote is the musical alter ego of Berlin-based Scottish singer-songwriter Calum Bolland, conceived in Berlin in late 2019.Blending melancholic indie songwriting with tragicomic theatrical performances, Bolland draws inspiration from Bob Dylan, The Magnetic Fields and Flight of the Conchords. His music navigates the absurdities of love, modern life and the human condition with equal measures of sincerity and self-deprecation.Following three EPs exploring his experiences in Berlin, The Romantidote is now working on his debut album, dhachaigh, an introspective exploration of home, identity and belonging, informed by almost a decade of life abroad.
